Elpida Investment Ltd - Tema

In 2011 there was the need for a financial assistance in the community where the office is currently operating from in the Tema East & Kpone Katamanso Constituency. The women would have to travel at least 2 killometers to access financial services with the banks. Thus the need to birth a micro finance in the area became relevant to bring banking to the door step of the indigenous of Tema East and Kpone Katamanso with a population of 161,612 people. And still has great potential of becoming a city. It is a new area that has a proposed National Airport by the Government of Ghana.

Close to the sea and has rich water bodies in the form of lakes and lagoon on that stretch of area making it a land to be desired by all. The two Directors came together with a five year projection and concluded

that there will be the need for financial services, housing, transportation and energy as Ghana was predicting future power problems. In 2012 the Company was registered as Elpida Investment Company Ghana Ltd by shares.

We started with a capital of Ghc 21,000.00 ($ 6,176.47) and three years down the lane we are worth Ghc 300,000.00 ($ 88,235.30) in loans, Deposit, Assets and Internal Money Transfers. We started with two staff and now has twelve employees with five in school training to possibly join us as Senior Officers. The financial Services aspect of the company is fully in operation and the 3 subsidiaries are yet to go into operations due to funding.
