The company currently focuses on the production of Type 3 Polypropylene Random Copolymer (PPR-C) Pipes & Fittings. PILKAR happens to be the first company in Ghana and/or West Africa which focuses extensively on the production of PPR-C Piping Systems. Pipe Systems based on European standards and specifications.

Pilkar Plastics Industry Limited, a company with close to 30 years of experience in the production of top quality pipe systems in Turkey, is now manufacturing in Ghana. PILKAR’s pipe systems are manufactured from superior quality Type 3 class raw materials known in the industry as Polypropylene Random Copolymer (PP-R / PPR-C Type 3). PILKAR’s list of PP Radom Copolymer resin sources include only recognized leading global producers such as HYOSUNG Corporation, BOREALIS, LYONDELLBASELL and SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corporation). These companies have over 15 years of experience in the industry and are well-known in the thermoplastic sector for the production of high quality PP-R materials that are chemically stable, non-toxic food grade, environmentally friendly, and are characterized by outstanding chemical and high thermal resistance which are excellent for pipe systems.
Presently, our pipe system stocks are made from HYOSUNG Corporation’s PP-R resins produced and marketed by HYOSUNG Corporation under the brand name (Grade) ‘TOPILENE R200P’. R200P is a world-class PP-R resin and enjoys a favorable market in Europe (Germany, Russia, Czech Republic, Turkey, etc.), Middle East, South America, Africa and Asia as a result of its outstanding qualities.
The PILKAR brand is a pioneer in the manufacture of PPR-C Piping Systems in the world and the first to introduce white colored PPR-C pipes and fittings into the Turkish market for cold and hot water piping systems under the name PILKAR THERM WHITE TYPE 3 PPR-C PIPES AND FITTINGS. Since then, The PILKAR brand has maintained or adopted color white for its PPR-C pipes and fittings. The white color allows for easy sighting of defects and quicker inspection of the products. Therefore, defects and dirt are easily noticeable whereas the common colors (green and blue) may sometimes conceal production defects and dirt accumulation unless thoroughly inspected.

PILKAR PPR-C Pipe Systems are produced purely from virgin PP Radom Copolymer resins (TOPILENE R200P) and tested to conform to the specifications of DIN 8077, DIN 8078, DIN 16962, DVGW worksheets: - W544, - W534, - W270, DIN EN ISO 15874 / TSE EN 15874, TSE TS 9937 and TSE TS 11755 standards. They are, therefore, the indispensable solution for today’s indoor cold and hot water piping systems. Our products have also been tested and certified/licensed by the Ghana Standard Authority (GSA).
To meet our quality benchmarks, PILKAR carefully procures its plant and machinery (extrusion and injection molding machines, molds and other accessories) from the industry’s leading manufacturers in Turkey and Germany. Also, the company has assembled the best engineering team available. For example, our Extrusion and Injection Molding teams have at least 8 years of experience in the industry and are therefore well qualified in their fields. The company can also boast of a Lead Engineering Team which has more than 30 years of experience in the industry from Turkey and Germany.
The setting up of the company in Tema is very strategic in terms of its accessibility to West African markets by both the sea and road transport systems. Tema is the industrial hub of Ghana and has one of the best state-of-the-art ports (Tema Port) in the ECOWAS sub-region. The city is also linked to the Trans-ECOWA-Highway that serves landlocked countries such as Burkina Faso, Niger, Mali and the western part of Cote D’Ivoire. While clients may choose to transport our products from Tema via sea to Nigeria, Cote D’Ivoire, Benin and Togo, it is also possible to transport the goods by road into these countries and beyond. For the ease of transporting products into the international market, the company has been sited on the edge of the Trans-ECOWA-Highway (Main Harbour Road, Industrial Area, Tema) and is located at about 150 meters from the Tema Port.
