Ecole Francaise d' Accra

Lycée Français Jacques Prévert Created in 1963 by the Association of Parents of Students to enroll the children of the French nationals of the French Embassy, ​​it opened to the children of the staff of the French-speaking embassies.

In the early years it was hosted in the offices of the cultural department of the embassy. The French school, which was not yet called "Jacques Prévert"in 1975 was located in a rented premise at Roman Ridge until June 2000. As the population of the school grew (from about a hundred pupils to 270 pupils), there was a need for expansion.

In September 2000, the school relocated to its current premises here in East Legon . It adopted the name " Lycée Français Jacques Prévert ." Since then, enrollment has continuously increased. Currently, the

nursery and primary departments have about 343 pupils. The upper classes, that is from grade 6 to grade 12 are progressively passed in direct teaching with a current enrollment of about 240 students. Nonetheless, this evolution is not over.
