Job Presentation
Purpose of the Job Provide Human Resource and Administration support for operations in Ghana. Principle Accountabilities 1. Sourcing of local hires, conducting interviews and hiring of new staff with the guidance of the Project Manager. 2. Liaise with HR Manager in preparing offers and contracts for local hires. 3. Conduct staff induction and orientation. 4. Recommend and execute policies, procedures, rules and regulations for employees in compliance with Ghana’s Labor Law. 5. Manage the time attendance logs and leave management of the local hires. 6. Work closely with the Finance Officer in payroll management and submitting statutory returns of the local hires. 7. Maintaining and filing of personnel records. 8. Assist in Work Permit/Visa application for international staff. 9. Handling employee disciplinary issues while maintaining good relations. 10. Working closely with the Project Manager to ensure all employees comply with the safety rules. 11. Prepare and submit HR reports bi-weekly. 12. Perform other duties as assigned or required by the Project Manager and HR Manager. Knowledge and Experience • Degree in Human Resources Management or related subject. • Minimum of 5 years HR/Admin experience. • International experience or proven experience dealing with multi-cultural employees. • Demonstrate solid decision-making skills and the ability to use good judgment when handling issues. • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical as is the ability to work in a highly dispersed work environment. • Must have solid local employment labor law knowledge as well as a sound understanding of benefits programs • Ability to exercise discretion and effectively handle highly confidential issues is imperative. • Able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines • Fluent in both written and spoken English
