Company description
The Institute was formally registered in April 2001 in Ghana under the Professional Bodies Registration Decree, 1973 (NRCD 143) as a professional association dedicated to the promotion and development of the practice of Internal auditing in Ghana.

The Institute was formally inaugurated on Friday May 13, 2005 by the then Hon. Minister of Finance & Economic Planning on behalf of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana.

The Institute is a full-fledged member institute of the Global Internal Audit family. It also actively pursues collaboration and partnership with sister national institutes in particular the African institutes. IIA Ghana is a founding member of AFIIA - the African Federation of Institutes of Internal Audit, and currently the Chairperson for the AFIIA Governing Council.
