Job Description Academic Director
The Academic Director is responsible for ensuring the quality of teaching and learning at the Primary and Lower Secondary sections of Dodi International School. He/she is especially responsible for attaining learning targets across all subjects through effective curriculum delivery.
Professional Duties
1. Oversee the planning and effective delivery of the curriculum in alignment with the school’s mission and vision
2. Serve as academic advisor to teachers and actively promote inter-disciplinary teaching and learning across all subjects
3. Lead and oversee the work of the heads of department to ensure the highest quality of academic teaching and learning
4. Monitor student performance and liaise with parents on academic matters pertaining to their child’s development
5. Incorporate relevant thinking and reflective skills into the curriculum
6. Identify and bring to the attention of the leadership team, areas of concern regarding student academic engagement and wellbeing
7. Participate in hiring, managing and developing D.I.S. academic staff (for the Primary and Lower Secondary school)
8. Serve as the Exam Officer, coordinating with CIE to register D.I.S. and its students for periodic exams
9. Review resource needs and communicate these to the Head of School
10. Assist with the development of the academic calendar and the organization of school events
11. Other duties as assigned by the Head of School

Working Experience: 5 - 10 Years

Education: Masters Degree
