Day 1: Hanoi Arrival (D)
Arriving at our one-thousand-year-old capital of Hanoi, you will be welcomed with our guide and escort you to your hotel in the heart of the city. Check in your hotel and be free for relaxing after a long-haul flight. In the evening, you will enjoy a welcomed dinner at a local restaurant with traditional live music. You will spend the night in Hanoi.

Hanoi is neither a bustling city with high-rise buildings, twinkling lights, casinos, disco tech, bars nor a quiet city with low tin-roof houses. Hanoi is famous for small quiet alleys, tree-side boulevards, blue water lakes, the old quarter with traditional tube houses and the French Quarter with colonial architecture.

Day 2: Hanoi – Half day Adventure Street food Tour (B/L)
Today you will explore Hanoi but not in a classic way! It’s adventurous and challenging – a street food tour under the escort of a food blogger who has an enormous passion in Vietnamese food and culinary culture. You will eat in the local style! Be sure to have breakfast before your start the tour because you will need more energy for walking and also for encouraging your bravery. He might challenge your stomach with many kinds of street food.

Stroll around the Old Quarter and towards Thanh Ha market. Along the way, delicacies, strange food items and an explanation of Vietnamese food practices will be given. This busy market is alive with sights and sounds of Hanoi and is the essence of Vietnamese culture.

Continue through the streets of the Old Quarter to Dong Xuan market to sample some local foods such as pho (noodle with beef/chicken..) and bun dau (noodle with tofu and fish sauce). Your guide will explain the routine of Vietnam meal times and indigenous/unusual ingredients eaten.

Stroll up ‘food alley’ to see other dishes on offer. From there visit the food sections of Hanoi’s main market, Dong Xuan. See dried goods and aromatics, the essentials of Vietnamese cuisine.

Walk down to Hang Than Street to view ceremonial cake stalls and taste a special French influenced dessert. An explanation on traditions and food gifts for celebrations will be given.

Continue back into the Old Quarter via Hang Cot Street – check specially treated fruit which are dependable on the season and a common snack in Vietnam. Walk along Phung Hung Street through temporary market stalls where you can see the changing market scene in Hanoi and how modernization is shaping tradition. At the end of the tour stop at one of the Old Quarter busiest (yet smallest) coffee shops for a well-earned sit down and coffee before transferring back to your hotel.

You will be free at leisure for the remainder of the day. You will spend the night in Hanoi.

Day 3: Hanoi – Moon Garden Homestay in Ky Son (B/L/D)

After breakfast, you will drive to Son Tay, 60 kilometers from Hanoi.

10:00: Arrive at Moon Garden Homestay in Ky Son village. Welcome drink with local fresh green tea. Free time for discovering Moon garden Homestay and Ky Son village by yourself (local market, kinder garden)

11:00: Cooking class and then lunch will be served with local food.

13:30: Hand Spa- Enjoy having your fingers dipped in a fragrant lime bowl and the traditional herbal hand massage. Then it is your free time for relaxing or further conversation with the host family about local snacks, sharing our culture, and learning about traditional customs. If you want to learn Vietnamese, one of the family members can teach you.

15:00: Take a bicycle ride to discover the Ky Son, Tam Son, Van Minh and Cham farming communities and stop at any home you like for a cup of tea. Chat with local people about their daily life and farming. You can help with plowing or making rice beds, transplanting seedlings, harvesting rice (or cassava, corn, sweet potatoes...) depending on the harvest season, collecting tea and all medicinal herbs needed for your steam bath late this afternoon and foot “spa” late evening.

17:30: Return to the Homestay for happy hour (you will be offered some kind of local tisane) . While waiting bathroom, you can enjoy your drink and taste some of the local products such as maize, sweet potato, cassava, peanuts, depending on season.

18:30: Traditional, refreshing steam bath with fragrant herbs (Lemon grass, pomelo leaves, holy basil leaves).

19:30: Dinner at homestay.

20:30: Observe the evening worship and enjoy your foot bath in warm water with ginger, salt and mugwort medicinal herbs before bedtime, which brings you a deeper sleep.

Day 4: Moon Garden Homestay – Ha Long Bay (B/L/D)
7:00: Joining praying Buddha (this praying style would be considered as exercises),

7:30: Breakfast, then participate in burning votive money and gold for the deceased.

8.00: Leave Ky Son for Ha Long Bay. Travel through the rich farmlands of the Delta of Red River and the landscape of rice fields, water buffalo, the daily life of the Vietnamese village. Ha Long Bay, one of the World Natural Heritages recognized by UNESCO with over 3,000 spectacular limestone islands rising from the clear, emerald sea in the Gulf of Tonkin. Upon arrival, welcome aboard. Enjoy welcome drink before check in at your cabin. While the junk is passing many rocky islets, caves, floating villages and beaches, your lunch will be served on board with fresh seafood. In the afternoon, visit a floating fishing village by rowing boat. Meet and talk and take photos with the villagers. Late afternoon, your cruise will stop at a quiet lagoon for overnight where you can take time to swim, relax on sundeck or kayak (with extra charge of US$20 per double kayak). Followed the sunset, your dinner will be arranged in a warm atmosphere restaurant between gently lapping waves. Overnight on board. .

Day 5: Ha Long Bay – Hanoi – Danang – Hoi An (B)
Breakfast served while the junk cruises around Ha Long Bay passes by many rocks, islets… Stop for a while to explore Surprise cave. The junk continues cruising toward Halong port. Disembark at 11:30a.m, our bus will wait there and transfer you back to Noi Bai Airport for your domestic flight to Danang. Upon arrival, you will be met by our guide and driven to Hoi An. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 6: Hoi An – Fish & Chips (B/L)
Cam Thanh is a small fishing village and around 5 kilometers from the Hoi An Ancient town. During the Vietnam war, this was the shelter for liberation troops and nowadays this place is famous for providing seafood products to Hoi An Town. Joining this tour you will have a chance to learn some traditional fishing techniques and how to paddle the unique Vietnamese bamboo basket boats while exploring the tranquil coconut-palm flanked waterways. On this tour, you will experience an authentic social and cultural insight of the local life. As well, you will take part in some hands-on activities that are fun, safe and interesting to people of all ages.

08:30 Picked up by our guide at your hotel, ride bicycles to Tra Que Village.

09:00 Walk around the vegetable village and join in the daily activities with local farmer there.

10:00 Continue riding along De Vong River to Hoi An Beach wharf.

10:30 Embark on the boat to Cua Dai sand dune, enjoy casting net show and learn how to cast net by local fisherman.

11:30 Continue to Cam Thanh Water coconut village, have a brief introduction about the place.

11:40 Take basket boat rowing along the water coconut river, Fisherman will teach you how to catch crabs. Each basket boat can carry only two people. If you are in big group, we need to divide into small teams for basket boat racing and catching crabs. A lovely present awaits the winner afterward.

12:40 Embark on motor boat, enjoy the folk songs show by local people while light lunch be served special local food such as pancake, Tam Huu spring rolls , fried fish …After lunch, learn how to make funny tools by water coconut leaf.

14:30 Continue to the ancient town, experience the daily life of fisherman along Thu Bon River

15:30 Get on Bach Dang wharf, take a bicycle back to Hotel. You will spend the night in Hoi An.

Day 7: Hoi An – Danang – Ho Chi Minh City (B/L/D)
Today, you will board a domestic flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival, check in your hotel and follow your guide to Ben Thanh Market. Walk thru the market and try to bargain like a local resident. There are thousands of local products to choose including tropical fruit from the Mekong Delta. In the evening, relax at Sax N’ Art Jazz Club for Saxophone performance by the famous local musician, Manh Tuan. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 8: Ho Chi Minh City – Cycling in Cu Chi Tunnels (B)
Entertain yourself a different day by falling in line with the local in a normal morning, experience how a day commences in this bustling city. Our short early morning tour enables you to gain a sense of morning in Saigon.

06.00: Warming up with a short riding to Tao Dan Cultural Park. Join the local in Tai Chi exercise if you wish.

06.30: Continue cycling through many streets to see how a new day begins, especially the lovely school girls in Ao Dai (Vietnamese long dress).

07:30: Enjoy a light breakfast at Pho’ 2000 Restaurant (like Bill Clinton did).

Return to hotel for fresh up and 'real' breakfast. And then take one hour drive to Tan Phu Trung village, you will take your bike, cycling through villages, rice field, rubber plantations where may see workers harvest latex from the trees. Visit rice paper making home workshop before arriving in Cu Chi tunnels for the 15 minutes document film. Keep going to the tunnels site: concealed trapdoor entrance, ventilations, bamboo trap, kitchen….and going down to the real tunnels. Afterward, enjoy tea, manioc (guerrillas’ food in the war time) back to Ho Chi Minh City by bus. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 9: Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta – Cai Be Floating Market (B/L)
After breakfast at your hotel, you will leave the bustling Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta in a good time to observe the most crowded hours of Cai Be floating market. Unlike floating market in Thailand, there are bigger boats here full of coconuts, watermelon, potatoes and many other crops. These big boats came from the provinces along the Mekong River and this market serves as the trade area. The boats also serve as the people's home since it can take days or longer to cruise the Mekong River. Afterwards, you will local gardens and houses to see orchard and local daily life and so forth. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant with Mekong River fish and vegetables. After lunch, we drive to Vinh Long, passing lush canals and peaceful villages, the unique natural setting of Mekong Delta region. Stop at An Binh Islet to visit some of the famous fruit orchards. After crossing the Co Chien River, the excursion ends at Vinh Long Pier where our driver is waiting to take you back to Saigon. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 10: Ho Chi Minh City – Departure (B)
You will be free today until our guide and driver come to pick you up the airport for your departure flight.
