Company description
UNDP is the UN's global development network, an organization advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. We are on the ground in some 170 countries and territories, working with them on their own solutions to global and national development challenges. As they develop local capacity, they draw on the people of UNDP and our wide range of partners.

In Ghana, UNDP supports national efforts and capacity building for sustainable human development in line with Ghana’s own development strategies. In line with Ghana’s Coordinated Program of Economic and Social Development Policies (CPESDP) for 2017-2024, which is anchored in the sustainable development goals (SDGs), the UN Country Team developed and adopted the

As a leading agency in the delivering as one (Dao), UNDP’s contribution to the UNSDP is to support Ghana in becoming more equitable, sustainable and accountable in delivering public services, and managing resources. In this regard, the Country Office is focusing on two programme priority areas within the next five years (2018-2022), with the aim to provide thought leadership and promote multi-stakeholder approaches for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda in Ghana. The programme priority areas are:

Inclusive, Equitable and Accountable Governance; and
Green, Equitable and Resilient Development.
The UNDP Ghana Country Office is a valued, trusted and reliable adviser and development partner to the Ghana Government and other stakeholders in national development. As Ghana builds its own development solutions, UNDP provides solution pathways to address the overarching development challenges of persistent inequalities, limited access to quality services, increased conflict, environmental degradation and climate change impacts. We support the country by:

strengthening institutions and processes to be more effective, equitable and accountable in the provision of quality services;
promoting inclusion and empowering vulnerable groups to participate in decision-making;
enhancing capacities for peace and social cohesion;
strengthening institutional capacities to tackle environmental degradation and climate change;
empowering communities with information and tools to protect the environment and build resilience; and
promoting green and sustainable investments and businesses.
UNDP also helps support Ghana's aspirations to achieve development gains in poorer communities through South-South initiatives.

Towards these objectives, the UNDP Country Office draws on its own knowledge, expertise and resources, as well as those available through UNDP's global development network . The Office also nurtures and builds strong alliances with civil society, the private sector and donors.
