The Institute of Certified Forensic Accountants (ICFA) Ghana is a professional body for those committed to the development of the multidisciplinary profession of forensic accounting.
Our mission is to develop and promote the profession of forensic accountancy to the public and to those people involved in providing forensic advice and guidance to their clients.
The Institute of Certified Forensic Accountants Ghana is a not-for-profit professional body. It is a member Institute of The Institute of Certified Forensic Accountants of Canada which is chartered under Letters of Patent granted by the Federal Government of Canada.

The mission of The Institute of Certified Forensic Accountants Ghana is to provide education and certification for forensic accountants so that members qualified to use the designation:

Certified Professional Forensic Accountants (CPFA) are recognized internationally as trusted, professional forensic advisors.


B. How to Get Certified
The Institute of Certified Forensic Accountants offers two designations for members:
• Certified Professional Forensic Accountant (CPFA)
• Certified Professional Internal Auditor (CPIA)

Do you qualify for direct admission to the Institute of Certified Forensic Accountants?

Entry requirements
The course seeks to accept suitably qualified applicants who are deemed to be able to engage in postgraduate level study and can reasonably be expected to successfully complete the course of study. This will normally be demonstrated by the achievement of a good first degree or equivalent and good academic references.

Applications are also encouraged from students who may not hold a first degree but have equivalent professional qualifications and sufficient work experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Normally relevant work experience equivalent to three years would be required for this entry route.

Applicants with no formal degree or professional level qualification may be accepted in exceptional circumstances, where they have had substantial business experience in a managerial capacity.

C. Professional Standards
Introduction
The Code of Professional Conduct is binding on all members of the Institute practicing as Forensic Accountants.
The briefer Code of Conduct is binding on all those members not in practice as management consultants - including retired members and Organizational Affiliates. Members of the Institute give advice to all levels of management and with this come the obligation to maintain the highest standards of integrity and competence.
In recognition of their obligations to clients, to the public at large and to the profession, all members annually agree in writing to comply with the Code of Professional Conduct, and to undertake relevant continuing professional development activities.

Code of Professional Conduct
Institute of Certified Forensic Accountants Code of Professional Conduct is structured on three principles:
a. Meeting the client' s requirements;
b. Integrity, independence, objectivity;
c. Responsibility to the profession and to the Institute of Certified Forensic Accountants.

Become part of our international network
The Institute of Certified Forensic Accountants welcomes new members. By electing to become a member of the Institute of Certified Forensic Accountants, you show your commitment to the forensic accounting profession and agree to abide by the Institute's Professional Standards.

Your membership certificate
You should have received your membership certificate approximately 6-10 weeks after election to membership.

If you do not receive your certificate within three months, please contact us and we will investigate and if necessary issue a replacement certificate.
Please note that all certificates remain the property of the Institute of Certified Forensic Accountants, and any person ceasing to be a member or having his/her membership suspended must return the certificate.

Associate Membership
This membership is available to:
• Individuals principally employed as educators at colleges and universities.
• Those engaged in full time undergraduate degree
• Those who have completed the educational program of ICFA and working towards experience requirement to qualify for CPFA designation.
• Those who have interest in Forensic Accounting but do not want to pursue CPF designation.


Fees and Payment
All members are required to pay annual subscription of US$70.00. Non-payment for annual subscription results in cancellation of membership and member privileges. If membership is cancelled the certificate must be returned to our administrative office.
