Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fine Arts Teacher with expertise in IGCSE and Cambridge education to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching Fine Arts to secondary school students, a deep understanding of the IGCSE curriculum, and the ability to inspire creativity and artistic expression in students.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and interactive Fine Arts lessons in accordance with the IGCSE and Cambridge curriculum standards.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, creativity, and critical thinking.
  • Teach students a variety of artistic techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media, and provide guidance on art theory and history.
  • Develop and implement differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students, including those with special educational needs.
  • Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of student achievement.
  • Organize and supervise extracurricular activities, such as art clubs, exhibitions, and workshops, to showcase students' artwork and foster their artistic talents.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in departmental meetings, professional development sessions, and curriculum development activities to enhance teaching practices and promote continuous improvement.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and stakeholders to provide updates on student progress, discuss academic performance, and address any concerns or issues.
  • Stay informed about current trends, developments, and best practices in Fine Arts education, and incorporate innovative teaching strategies and resources into instructional practices.
  • Uphold school policies, procedures, and standards of conduct, and contribute to a positive and supportive school culture that values diversity, respect, and academic excellence.

  • Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree

    Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
    • Teaching certification or qualification in Fine Arts education, with specialization in IGCSE and Cambridge curriculum.
    • Minimum of 3years of experience teaching Fine Arts at the secondary level, preferably in an international school or educational institution.
    • Demonstrated expertise in teaching a wide range of Fine Arts mediums and techniques, as well as art history and theory.
    • Familiarity with the IGCSE curriculum requirements and assessment standards for Fine Arts, and experience in preparing students for IGCSE examinations.
    • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to student success.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and stakeholders.
    • Passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering creativity, artistic expression, and lifelong learning in students.
    • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the overall success and growth of the Fine Arts department and school community.
    • Proficiency in using technology and educational resources to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
