  • Direct Reports: Process Plant Manager
    • Job Purpose
    Manage and supervise the maintenance/repair services on the machines/equipment/plant and ancillary facilities at the process plant to guarantee the normal operation of processing plant for continuous production at site, in line with company expectations, best practices and regulatory obligations. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare and implement annual, quarterly and monthly maintenance plan/budget for all mechanical plants/equipment and machines/tools at the process plant.
  • Be responsible for preparing maintenance work procedures, training the maintenance employees on the work procedures and for supervising the implementation of these work procedures in daily work activities.
  • Organize the resources including equipment, materials and human resources to implement the maintenance plan/budget and accomplish maintenance target as scheduled.
  • Ensure that all plant and equipment sustain minimal downtime, with the target of achieving maximum planned maintenance and minimal unplanned maintenance.
  • Ensure that maintenance is well coordinated, cost effective and includes measures confirming the quality and effectiveness of such work.
  • Check the efficiency of maintenance work activities and make sure no resource is wasted.
  • Guarantee the normal operation of process plants and all equipment at the process plant.
  • Control of maintenance costs and implementation of cost saving measures.
  • Analyse the problems/issues in maintenance work, work out improvement plan and implement the plan in work practice.
  • Keep abreast of technological developments within the industry and make recommendations if the technology can be adopted at the workplace in order to improve safety, efficiency or reduce costs.
  • Ensure quality standards and workmanship is maintained to a high level and in compliance with Statutory requirements.
  • Ensure the effective management of all maintenance/repairs contractors to ensure quality, reduce wastage and cost reduction through the following:
  • Assist the process plant management team in verifying contractor’s work plan.
  • Check and inspect the installation work done by the contractor and make sure that works meet the technical and engineering requirements specified.
  • Actively communicate with contractors and lead them in problem-solving.
  • Performs any other related duties assigned by the Supervisor based on the exigencies of the Company.


    • Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree

    Requirements
    • Minimum qualification (s)
    •  Degree in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related engineering discipline.
    • MINCOM Engineering Superintendent competency certificate.
    • Member of Ghana Institution of Engineers (GhIE) is desirable.
    • Valid Driver’s License.
    • Experience
    • 5 years of experience in a managerial role in a gold processing plant operations.
    • Experience with crushing, grinding, flotation/CIL operations in a gold plant.
    • Experience in the pre-treatment process of fine-grained disseminated refractory gold ore, such as fine/ultra-fine grinding.
    • Experience with effective asset maintenance regimes/ cycles.

    • Strong Knowledge in Mechanical Engineering Practices and Standards
    • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, email and presentation software

    • Strong reliability maintenance experience and techniques
    • Familiarity with codes, standards, regulations and practices applicable to the design and construction of gold processing plant structures/production facilities
    • Contribute technical and design assistance to provide engineering design solutions in consultation with Lead Drafter or Lead Engineer
    • Monitor self-progress and quality to ensure that project schedules and deliverables are met
